Key Features
- Scaled to 3000 users a day (2024 average load)
- Hooked into existing software through API's with additional steps for time optimized loading
- UX designed for both mobile and desktop
- Had additional approval functionality built ontop of the existing API logic (multilevel leave approval)
- Camera/file upload for verification of most types of form
- Administration of users / forms built into Admin portal
Key learnings
- This was my first "real" piece of software work for Edge, it was challenging as even though the software for building it is low code (appery.io). I thought it would be easy however... many new concepts appeared such as API's, PWA and mapping which the software is built around.
- Simple solutions work well for simple problems, when complicated issues appeared it was sometimes requiring alot of different steps to get it working.
- Start of internal documentation
- Security, token embedding the existing information into a specific edge token (with timeout) to prevent malicious intent.
